Oh My Cherry Goodness!

Talk about being thoroughly & utterly blown away! Today I received my #VeryCherrySwap parcel from my swap partner - the very lovely Kath in Perth (Western Australia).

Awwww this brought me to tears. I'm not going to show you what she wrote on the back of the card, but Kath knows how fond I am of the Secret Squirrel. I often have him come stay with me & he helps me to plot, plan & make lots of goodies for various friends. I had alot of fun working with the Secret Squirrel on the #VeryCherrySwap (once Kath receives my parcel I will show you what the squirrel & I made). I can't believe Kath found such a gorgeous card (and in my favourite colours!). I will definitely have to get this framed.

Oh hello my lovelies!! Yes, these really ARE my favourites!!!!!
Nutella and Peppermint Cadbury

So many Cherry Yummies:
Cherry Pop Rocks; Cherry Intense Lindt Dark Chocolate; Cherry Kool Aid; Dark Chocolate Ganache Cherry Ripe; Cherry Ripe; and Cherry Bounty.

Some Craft Items:
Lime green fabric; Wonder Clips (Kath you must've known. I wanted to buy some last payday but ran out of money so I never got around to it LOL); Ribbon with coloured buttons printed on it; 3 packets of Bohin needles for Chenille, Embroidery & Tapestry; and some Thread Worx hand dyed floss (colour #1053).

Rawr! This gave me the giggles.  Yes I do love lions (and cheetahs, and leopards. So cute!!)

Something to make me smell nice - Crushed Black Cherry Soap.

Something to make my house smell nice - a Black Cherry Candle.

Now I can pucker up with some lipsmackingly gorgeous Cherry Lip Gloss

This is a lovely Pin Cushion that Kath made herself using a technique called "Nuno Felting". I was intrigued to see this as she sent me a "before" photo of green fluff & told me that she was nuno felting it. I had to google "nuno felting" because I had no idea what it was & didn't want her to think that I was a total blonde LOL:  Nuno felting is the process of felting wool roving and/or wool yarns onto another fabric.

Hand crocheted cherries.  The photo doesn't do this justice. The colours don't look true to life in this photo but the cherries are very red & the leaves very green.  Kath has added a clip to the back so I can attach them to something.  I admire people who can crochet, it's not something that I can do but feel free to yarn bomb the post near my front door anytime folks! ;)

Kath very kindly made me a few blocks to go with my Patchwork House Block Swap blocks.  Notice the cherry in the window & the cute little pussy cat.

Another Patchwork House Block with a cute little lion & a man looking out the window.

And now for a drumroll....

The Pièce de résistance ...

My Cherry Mini Quilt

As it was folded up, this was my first view - the label on the back.

And this is the gorgeous Cherry Mini Quilt that Kath made.

 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I LOVE IT!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

She was trying to use mainly greens & teals so that I can hang it in my sewing room & has also thoughtfully included a cute little quilt hanger for it (see main photo). And the hand quilting on this is just divine!!

Photo nicked off Kath's Instagram feed ;)

Seriously Kath I can't thank you enough for your kindness & generosity and I truly hope that the parcel of goodies that I have sent to you makes you feel as warm and fuzzy & loved & special as yours did for me.
I truly feel that I have made a new & a cherished friend in Kath!

As soon as Kath receives my parcel I will upload what I have made and sent to her.

This was my first major quilt swap that I have been involved in and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

  1. Fantastic bundle! Am I right in assuming that green and teal are your fav colours?
